Creative Gating, Part 3

In this last creative gating tutorial a gate is used to make the snare drum pop out in a room mic track, making the room mic cleaner sounding and more usable in the mix. I hope you’ve enjoyed the series. Be sure to add a comment with any questions.

Once again, a special thanks to Max Kunz of Jungle Maps for playing the drums.

PS- Web tutorials like these have been an additional revenue stream for my studio and I am really impressed with your work here. May I ask which screen recording software you’re using here? Thanks
