I’m Not Dead

Record Ready has obviously not been all that active lately. An email from a reader today asking for a status update prompted this post. My wife and I had a baby over the summer and work has been busier than ever… leaving me with no time left over. Hopefully, I’ll eventually find time for the occasional tutorial in the future. For now, enjoy the past tutorials, I hope they continue to help people.

  4. Matt,

First, congratulations to you and your wife for the new addition to the family!
I have recently become acquainted with your blog and your tutorials, and as a sound recording student in Montreal, I am extremely pleased with how helpful and fun your tips are. I have used some already in some of my mixing projects, and you helped open the door to new creative possibilities and curiosity in me in regards to mixing. I just wanted to say thank you! Also, do you know any Universities or career schools that offer a bachelor’s degree in audio? Again, thanks! Take care and have fun with all your projects!

  5. Thanks very much Jessica.

I went to Berklee College of Music, in Boston, which is as good as it gets (in my obviously biased opinion). You should also check out Mix Magazine’s directory of schools.

  6. Hi Matt, just wanted to say that I love love the blog! I have a blog that I rarely update so I know how it goes. I will still keep my eye out for another update! Thanks!

  7. Hey Matt,

Last year you pretty much told the world that you wouldn’t be contributing to this blog any longer on my birthday (November 20th). Dude your stuff is sooo easy to follow and I’ve applied the things that I’ve learned here in so many different ways. I could never afford to go to school for production and I wish that I could do a Berklee deal online but I just dont have the cash. So I was wondering if you could find it in your heart to throw us a bone just one last time. Consider it a present for a dude who loves to make stuff sound awesome but doesn’t know how. Man, if you did that would be awesome!

Thanks for everything that you have already taken the time to post. It’s all gold.
